Churches Together in Milton Keynes

We are a network of Christian communities in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. We are working together to show God’s love to the Borough and City of Milton Keynes.

Our current priority is to build a strong network of committed member congregations.

We have a particular concern with Poverty, Climate Justice, Refugees, Racial Justice and Mental Health.

Update from CTMK

I hope you’re having a good summer. We want to give you a brief update on the development of Churches Together in Milton Keynes (CTMK).

The small Working Group has been extremely busy over the past few months. We have met seven times as a group - and a great deal of work has happened between meetings…

Our first priority has been to create a new charity to support ecumenical mission in Milton Keynes. We have taken advice from people in other areas, and worked with a legal expert. We have been preparing draft policies, looking at budgets and talking to potential trustees… It has been a very busy time!

The good news is that we have just submitted an application to the Charity Commission.

We have been told that it will take three to six months for the application to be processed - and the Charity Commission may have questions - but this is a huge step forward!!

We are working on a leaflet to explain how CTMK might work - and how people can be involved in its development. More on this soon…

There is also a plan coming together for a major week of events in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in January 2023. This will include an opportunity for people to come together and share ideas about CTMK and how we might work together in the City and Borough of Milton Keynes. Please keep these dates free, because it could be a really exciting time.

In the meantime, please keep praying for the churches and congregations of Milton Keynes. God is at work amongst us, and there are huge needs to address in our communities!

All the best,

Tim Norwood

(on behalf of the Working Group)
