Churches Together in Milton Keynes

We are a network of Christian communities in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. We are working together to show God’s love to the Borough and City of Milton Keynes.

Our current priority is to build a strong network of committed member congregations.

We have a particular concern with Poverty, Climate Justice, Refugees, Racial Justice and Mental Health.

Come and Sing Evensong

The Church of St Mary and St Giles in Stony Stratford hosted a "Come and Sing Evensong" on Thursday 19th January.  Choirs and singers from across the borough can together to practice and then sing some beautiful choral music.
Rev Lisa Kerry, the Baptist Regional Minister, preached about the things that create unity, reminding us that the quality of our worship is less important than the way we respond to those in need.
The Moderator of the URC East Midlands Synod, Revd Geoffrey Clarke led the intercessions, and prayed for unity in the city.
The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Amanda Marlow read the New Testament lesson.  She also spoke movingly about a school visit focused on the Holocaust. She reminded us that we ordinary people can commit horrible crimes, or perform acts of love and compassion.
A number of people said that it was good to bring singers together in this way, and that we should do it again.
