Churches Together in Milton Keynes

We are a network of Christian communities in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. We are working together to show God’s love to the Borough and City of Milton Keynes.

Our current priority is to build a strong network of committed member congregations.

We have a particular concern with Poverty, Climate Justice, Refugees, Racial Justice and Mental Health.

Climate Unity

The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) welcomed people from across Milton Keynes to a meeting for worship on the theme of "Climate Unity".
Ruth Iley guided us through a part-programmed meeting for worship, which included two hymns written by Quakers: "Dear Lord and Father of Mankind", and "When I look..."
Rob Paton shared a homily which challenged us to work together to address the core problem of carbon emissions.  People then reflected during the silence and offered their own thoughts...
David Gregory from the Baptist Union Environmental Network bright some beautiful displays which are designed to help people reflect on the importance of creation.  They can be seen online with video reflections.
This evening was a powerful experience of Quaker practice, but also a challenge to Christians in Milton Keynes to embrace the urgency of the climate crisis and work together as stewards of God's creation.
