We share the sad news of the death of Fr Paul Hardy.
Hailing from Easington Colliery, Fr Paul attended, after seminary school in Durham, University of Kent and Gregorian University in Rome, amongst others, to complete his studies with a keen interest in Youth Ministry. After his ordination in 1976 he was moved to Milton Keynes, founded the much loved Celebration (a weekend for teens to discover their faith), and after being awarded his doctorate from Rome in 1984 he eventually settled to look after and raise St Edward the Confessor from the ground up, in 1990. He was RC Dean of Milton Keynes for nearly 15 years and can add a televised Songs of Praise mass to his mantle. In more recent years he moved to Middlesbrough.
Details of his funeral have been released:
Sunday 11th June - Reception into St Edward the Confessor Church, 7pm followed by Mass
Followed by a Committal at St Mary’s Cemetery, Woburn Sands
Please follow the St Edward the Confessor facebook page for further information
Rest in Peace Fr Paul. Thank you for your years of service for the Catholic Church and the city of MK.
